Aesthetic Medicine

Botulinum toxin

Botulinum toxin type A is a biological active ingredient that blocks nerve signals, paralyzing the muscle softly and temporarily.

In Aesthetic Medicine is used in the treatment of dynamic wrinkles or expression lines of the upper half of the face. This type of wrinkles is produced by the gesticulation, that is, by the contraction of the facial muscles, among which are:

  • Wrinkles between the eyebrows, such as those that appear when frowning
  • Horizontal Wrinkles on the forehead
  • Crow’s feet

When injected, the botulinum toxin relaxes the treated muscles, so that, when gesturing, wrinkles are minimized. It lasts approximately 6 months, then the muscles move again and the wrinkles reappear.

Doctors of aesthetic medicine seek natural results, so their goal is not to completely paralyze the muscle, but to soften its contraction, so that wrinkles are improved while the face continues to express emotions.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally present in the skin, tissue and in cartilage, among others.

This substance has the ability to retain water molecules, so it is able to hydrate and provide elasticity to the skin.

In the field of wrinkle treatment, hyaluronic acid promotes the recovery of volume in areas such as the cheeks, facial contours and wrinkles that are not produced by facial movement, such as:

  • Naso-jugal groove
  • Marionette lines
  • Wrinkles between eyebrows
  • Lip profile
  • High cheekbones
  • Reduce scars

Hyaluronic Acid allows to achieve very natural results diminishing wrinkles. The treatment is personalized and adjusted to the characteristics of each patient.

The effect could be compared to what it could be achieved by combining the best moisturizer with the best nourishing cream, considering that the typical penetration of active ingredients is minimal comparing to the injection that penetrates one hundred percent of the product, achieving better results.

The most common substances used for this treatment are:

  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Cocktail of vitamins
  • Amino acids
  • Antioxidants
  • Trace elements
  • Organic Silicon, which allows to give a more solid structure to collagen

There is scientific evidence that substances such as vitamin A, C or hyaluronic acid are effective in reducing skin aging.

Facial Carboxytherapy

Facial carboxytherapy achieves rapid and visible results. Improves the general appearance of the skin and helps oxygenate the skin tissue, without side effects. The facial carboxytherapy consists of the application of localized micro-injections of CO2 through a fully prepared and specific equipment. By infusing CO2 into our skin, blood vessels dilate causing tissue oxygenation, while eliminating various toxins through the lymphatic system.

  • With this we get to significantly improve circulation, reaffirm and unify the tone of your skin. Recover the splendor and natural luminosity of your skin, restore youth and make your face an example of perfection thanks to facial carboxytherapy.
  • The facial carboxytherapy is highly recommended to treat delicate areas such as the eye contour, since in two sessions you will be able to reduce dark circles, which are so complicated to treat from cosmetics, since they often only treat the problem from the spot or hyperpigmentation of the contour. With the carboxytherapy we manage to stimulate the circulation of the zone. The dark circles are one of the most visible signs of fatigue and tiredness of our skin.

Body Carboxytherapy

Carboxytherapy is one of the best therapies to fight cellulite, flaccidness and localised fat deposits. It is a non-invasive method consisting in small infiltrations of carbon dioxide into the affected tissues.

It consists of infiltration at the hypodermic (subcutaneous) level of carbon dioxide (carbon dioxide-CO2). The subcutaneous injection of a significant amount of carbonic gas at the subdermal level, produces immediate vasodilation in the area, which occurs with the immediate onset of heat sensation in the area and an increase in the partial pressure of oxygen, which causes a greater amount of oxygen available for tissues and the improvement of the microvascular component.

Body Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a painless intradermal injection technique that is used mainly for the treatment of cellulite and localised obesity. It is done by injections in the affected area and gets very good results.

The products used are homeopathic, so that any possible local or systemic allergic reaction is avoided. With this technique, three fundamental actions are achieved:

  • Cellular: acts on the adipocyte stimulating the release of its fat content
  • Vascular: favouring local and systemic microcirculation
  • Lymphatic: favouring lymphatic drainage of accumulated toxins

It is a very safe medical technique. Side effects are usually insignificat such as local bruises in the treated area, mild discomfort at the time of injection and slight erythema.

The treatment schedule is usually from a weekly session to complete between 10-12 sessions (depending on the case to be treated), followed by biweekly sessions and finally the maintenance is a monthly or bi-monthly session.

Thread Lifting

The treatment is used mainly to reduce flaccidity on face and neck. It consists of the subcutaneous implantation of threads that allow pulling the fallen skin and repositioning it at a higher level. The threads can have self-anchoring, that is to say, they are not fixed from the end that pulls on any fabric, or they can be anchoring, in which case they are fixed on one side in the fallen area.

Depending on the area to be treated and the desired results, a different technique will be used for the number of cones, length and anchoring technique to offer the best possible result. This technique is performed on an outpatient basis with local anesthesia. The sutures are inserted with a micro needle, without incisions. The duration of these is two years and the patient can be reincorporated into his daily life two days later. It is a very non-aggressive technique.
